2020 Kia Soul to premiere at LA Auto Show

ABU DHABI: We are still a couple of weeks away from the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is scheduled to begin from Nov 30. The show is possibly supposed to host the global unveiling of the 2020 Kia Soul crossover. Kia Motor Corporation has released a teaser image of this funky subcompact crossover and also confirmed the possibility of its world debut at the event.

A few spy shots of a camouflaged prototype were also able to make their way to the internet. The snapshots reveal that the all-new third-generation Soul by the South Korean automobile manufacturer will retain its classic signature silhouette. Necessary updates have been introduced to influence the vehicle’s external appearance. The front fascia receives some restyling though. The vertical tail lamps have also been given some re-touches. The vehicle is likely to opt for a composite two-tier headlamp design and a sleek LED strip spanning across the front that is found on Hyundai Kona. The roofline also might feature some remodelling.

From the mechanical point of view, the South Korean automaker confirmed that the 2020 Kia Soul will be powered by a new turbocharged motor. This confirmation has left us with a wider spectrum of possibilities of the diesel-powered and turbocharged gasoline engines that could be found in the upcoming subcompact crossover. The possibility of 2020 Soul featuring an all-wheel-drive variant cannot be completely ruled out as well.

The teaser image of the 2020 Soul surfaced online on its South Korean website and we got a glance of the green-painted rear with a white coloured front end. Like its previous generation models, this upcoming all-new Kia Soul is expected to be available with an all-electric version as well and it might go on sale in Europe by next year.

There has been no word yet on when it will make its way to the Emirates. The Kia Soul 2018 available in the UAE comes with a price tag ranging from AED 56,900 to AED 82,500.
