2019 Range Rover Evoque displayed with wireframe sculpture
ABU DHABI: The new-generation Range Rover Evoque is on its way to make its official debut after being in production for nine years. Land Rover found a unique way to tease the look of this subcompact luxury crossover SUV in a wireframe structure. The wireframe sculpture gives the impression that the vehicle might get slimmer and bigger than before. The all-new Evoque will officially make its world premiere on the 22nd of November 2018.
Land Rover has shown the shape of the new crossover using full-scale wire-frame installations. The design team of Evoque made the wire-frame from lightweight aluminium. The sculpture, depicting the vehicle model, has been put on display at four destinations across the city of London, including Kensington and Chelsea.
The decade-old classic Evoque, now in its all-new avatar, receives a more sculpted look. The upcoming revised model apparently seems to stay faithful to its predecessor in terms of its exterior design. Land Rover confirmed that the upcoming next-gen crossover will continue to feature current-gen Evoque's classic coupe-like outline and beltline. The wireframe structure keeps the enticed public wondering as to what to expect once the British automaker officially unveils the vehicle.
In the first quarter of the year, a few spy shots were taken while this all-new subcompact luxury crossover was cruising around the Nurburgring motorsports complex in camouflage. Big-sized crossover wheels and large intakes indicate that the basic model design is kept intact.
Though it is not confirmed, the crossover might derive its power from either a turbocharged gasoline or a turbo-diesel powertrain. The mill will come coupled with either an automatic or manual transmission. The engine options might also provide room for a plug-in hybrid variant.
This unique display of model preview is not a completely new thing as the auto brand had already employed wireframe artwork back in 2010 to showcase the outline of Evoque when it was revealed for the first time. Plus, at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover had used the wireframe sculpture to display multiple customization options that Evoque can provide.
