2019 Land Cruiser and Lexus LX Black Edition images leaked ahead of the launch
ABU DHABI: The leaked snapshots of the upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX Black Edition have been leaked online. Aside from a series of cosmetic tweaks on both the SUVs, nothing more is subject to change. We are talking about the engines fitted on both. They are expected to be the same as the standard models sold in the UAE.
From the images, it appears that the 2019 Land Cruiser gets a new front splitter, a revised grille section, blackened headlamps and a reworked front bumper that gets chrome treatment around the fog lamps. While the alloys and rear bumper appear to be the same as before, the rear spoiler appears to be different.
A new trim called the Land Cruiser GXR seems to be on its way to the UAE, also known as Grand Touring. The details about the trim are yet to be disclosed.
Talking about the Lexus LX Black Edition S, it gets sportier than ever. The components like front grille, headlamps, tail lights and fog lamp cluster get a blacked-out look. The tail lights on this new edition have been tweaked as well. Apart from this, the SUV looks identical to the outgoing version.
While the Toyota Land Cruiser is available in three engine options, 4.0-litre V6 275 PS, 4.6-litre V8 308 PS and 5.7-litre V8 367 PS petrol engines, the Lexus LX is powered by a 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine.
The biggest 5.7-litre power mill is coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox while the other two are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The launch date for both the models is not known at the moment, but we presume it to be announced soon as the end of 2018 is not too far off either.
