2019 Cadillac XT5 lands in the Middle East

ABU DHABI: Dressed for any occasion, the bestselling car from Cadillac has just made its way into the Middle East. The 2019 XT5 is built on a lightweight structure and has segment-leading safety and a host unique features. The exterior is being treated with four new colors while the interior gets one new option dubbed Kona Brown. Cadillac UAE has something for everyone, the XT5 is available in 3 trims. The entry-level variant goes by the name Luxury, the mid variant is called Premium Luxury, and the top of the line trim is known as Platinum.

Standard affair on the Luxury trim are the 18-inch alloy wheels, the other 2 variants are endowed with 20-inch ones. A unique feature in the Premium Luxury and Platinum variants is something called Continuous Damping Control. This manages the ride control in real time resulting in better comfort. Step inside the 2019 XT5 and you are wrapped in full leather seats along with Sapele wooden accents. 

At the centre, you have the 8-inch touchscreen with the new Cadillac User Experience system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Select variants also get a wireless charger for your mobile phone. A Cadillac isn’t a Cadillac without its signature LED lights, these are present both inside and out giving the XT5 a unique characteristic. A gesture-controlled electric tailgate is also standard across all variants.

If safety is a concern then fear not, the XT5 has all the latest safety technology to keep its occupants safe. Features like Side Blind Zone Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, and Lane Keep Assist are just a few things that are part of the Driver Awareness and Driver Assist packages.

Propelling this SUV forward is a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine, capable of producing 310 bhp and 366 Nm of torque. All the power is managed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. To help reduce noise and vibration, the gearbox has something called Electronic Precision Shift.
