2018 Nissan Patrol: What is new?

Nissan is one of the most loved auto brands in the UAE. Registering a staggering growth of 20% in 2017 in the Gulf, the automaker sold more than 85,000 vehicles in the same fiscal year. In this thriving period, the Nissan Patrol was the strongest performer and the best-selling SUV in the UAE.

With the 2018 Nissan Patrol, the status it achieved in the recent past is only set to enhance. But what does it has in store for the auto enthusiasts in the UAE? Though there isn’t much that has made news with the 2018 model. The new Nissan Patrol is similar to the 2017 model, including the engine options, transmission and features. The 2017 model brought a major change to the Patrol, which obviously is one of the reasons that Nissan wasn't really bothered to update the 2018 version. Let’s find out in this 3-minute read what the 2018 Nissan Patrol has to offer?

On the outside

The design of the new Patrol is about dynamism. Starting from the bolder chrome front grille to the blacked-out A-pillar to the bigger 20-inch alloy wheels, all contribute to its impressive road presence.

While the new LED headlights with DRLs and chrome air intakes add to the luxury, the welcome lighting provides convenience. The tail lights get distinctive styling with red LED lighting. The wheel design has been updated to appear bolder than before. The around view monitor comes as standard now for easy manoeuvrability.

Stepping inside

Inside, the new Nissan Patrol is spacious than ever. With increased wheelbase, the legroom has been improved significantly to offer ultimate comfort - no matter if you are seated in the second or third row of the big SUV. There are adjustable headrests for improved convenience and more headroom for taller passengers to ride comfortably. The infotainment system gets upgraded with a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system that is coupled to an 8-inch touchscreen on the centre console.

Additionally, it gets two second row seat entertainment screens of size 8-inch each, with remote control and headphones, making long drives more fun and less hectic.

Under the bonnet

The 2018 Nissan Patrol retains its engines as before. It continues to draw power from the 5.6-litre V8 and 4.0-litre V6 engines. While the former is capable of producing 405 PS and 560 Nm, the latter is good enough for 279 PS of max power and 396 Nm of peak torque. Both mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission system. With a fuel tank capacity of 140 litres, the Nissan Patrol returns a fuel economy of around 8 kmpl.

The AWR edition

With the Patrol AWR edition, buyers get a fusion of performance, style, and luxury. The features accentuating the Patrol AWR include smart roof rails, LED fog lamps, satin finish diffuser with a reflector that blends well with the SUV’s suave design. The illuminated welcome lighting with logo and chrome-finished exhaust tip adds to comfort and style. One feature that makes it tempting as hell is the Alcantara roof liner with starlight. It not only adds a magical experience to the lives of buyers but imparts luxury, helping it stand apart from the rest of the models in the market.

The Nissan Patrol price stands at AED 194,250 and goes up to AED 331,800 depending on the model you choose. It is an ideal road machine for your city, urban commutes and adventurous off-road experiences.
