Jetour X50: Features Explained
As its smallest and most affordable SUV, the Jetour X50’s success in the UAE is important for the Chinese automaker. With more and more cars from China taking big strides in this market, their popularity has gone from strength to strength. Sold exclusively by Elite Group Holding LTD., the Jetour X50 was launched in the UAE in early December 2024.
Where some manufacturers offer buyers multiple variants of a car, Jetour has done something rare with the new X50. There is only one variant of the 2025 Jetour X50 – the fully-loaded Premium trim – priced at AED 69,500 (excluding VAT). The X50 rivals cars like the Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, MG ZS, etc. Here are some of its noteworthy features:
Top 7 Features
-
Bold front fascia
It might not be a big SUV, but Jetour has granted the X50 a bold look, especially at the front. The most striking design feature here is the so-called “waterfall-inspired” grille. It is large and wide, finished in glossy black and chrome. Satin trim garnishes the lower part of the bumper, while bold ‘JETOUR’ branding is displayed prominently above the grille.
The front bumper also integrates side intakes and a small ‘lip’ at the bottom. These small design details add some level of sportiness to an otherwise unassuming exterior. Then there are the X50’s “Eagle Eye” twin-beam LED headlights, which look quite cool in person. The X50 gets a set of LED DRLs, one participating as the car’s turn indicators.
Furthermore, the Jetour X50 is available in an eye-catching shade of light blue. This light yet lively color contrasts the black and chrome trim found on the exterior reasonably well. While it lacks the punch of some really vibrant colors found on some rivals, it adds to the bold front look of the X50.
-
Two interior themes
Customers in the UAE can get the Jetour X50 in one of two interior themes. The first is a dark black/gray interior with contrasting red accents and stitching, which evokes a sense of sportiness. There is a lighter blue/grey interior option, which resembles a cool nautical theme that is also easy on the eyes.
The latter looks more premium, plus it makes the X50 cabin feel airier. The squidgy padding with faux stitching on the dashboard and center console creates a palpable difference in the perceived quality. It can also have the effect of creating a calmer environment, which is a pretty good quality of its own.
-
Decent seats
The faux leather seats of the Jetour X50 look sporty with noticeable side bolstering. The rear seats feel sporty as well, wherein their sunken base with side bolsters resemble racing bucket seats. While the outer two seats are comfortable, the middle seat can feel too narrow and you are perched quite high.
The rear seats can be folded down 60/40 and get a central armrest, adding to their practicality and usability. The driver’s seat features 6-way electric adjustment, while the front passenger seat gets 4-way manual adjustment. A front center armrest is provided and comes in handy, too.
-
Digital driver’s display
Right in front of the driver in the Jetour X50 is a fully-digital 10.25-inch instrument panel. It comes with a few different display options, where changes are made to the layout and animations of the cluster. One option shows the speedometer and rev counter in a more conventional way with background dials – simple yet effective.
The other display option looks minimalistic, with the two values portrayed using numbers alone. This creates more space in the middle that can be utilized to show even more information (like maintenance reminders). It works reasonably well and does not feel overly complicated to use. However, some might find this screen to be a touch too dim at times.
-
Touch-infotainment system
The primary touchscreen also utilizes a 10.25-inch panel, whilst supporting both Arabic and English languages. Users can make use of the Smart Voice Control feature to operate many aspects of the infotainment system. This adds a certain degree of value to the daily usability of the system while also allowing the driver to keep their eyes on the road.
Adding even more value to the infotainment system is the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Jetour X50 has a 6-speaker audio system, wireless charging, a 12-volt outlet, and Type A & C USB ports. There is also hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, just in case.
-
Modern safety systems
The Jetour X50’s safety features cover most of the basic essentials that are expected these days. These include ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, traction control system, hill-start assist, ISOFIX anchors, TPMS, and 6 airbags. There are also rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, automatic wipers, automatic headlights, heated door mirrors, and a manually-dimming rearview mirror.
The Jetour X50 is equipped with an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, an emergency signal system, and emergency calling. These are accompanied by regulatory safety equipment like a fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, overspeed warning, etc. However, the X50’s most modern safety system is its Level 1 ADAS suite.
This system encompasses useful features such as blind-spot detection, lane-change assist, rear traffic alert, and door-open warning. The Jetour X50 also comes with a high-definition 360-degree camera system, which uses four cameras for a panoramic view. Some of the X50’s miscellaneous safety equipment includes a rear foglamp, height-adjustable headlights, seatbelt warning, and four-corner disc brakes.
-
Impressive manufacturer warranty
Ensuring peace of mind post-purchase is the Jetour X50’s impressive warranty of 10 years or 1-million kilometers. With such a long-lasting warranty period, Jetour customers in the UAE have little to fret over in case anything goes awry with their brand-new X50. This also goes to show the trust that the Chinese automaker has in the X50.
Conclusion
The new Jetour X50 is not the most exciting or state-of-the-art offering from the Chinese brand. It lacks several advanced features and tech that its larger stablemates come with. Moreover, it is not the most engaging car to drive, nor is it the most attractive SUV in Jetour’s line-up.
What makes the Jetour X50 worth considering is its compact size, comfortable & interesting-looking interior, and a comprehensive warranty package. This not only makes driving the X50 in the city easy but also keeps boredom at bay. Head to your nearest Jetour UAE showroom, located both in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and test drive the new X50.
