All you need to know about the new Toyota Rush
With an expertise in manufacturing world-class automobiles, Toyota has been long catering to the needs of the Middle East customers. The brand offers a wide range of products belonging to different genres in the market. Over the years of its existence here in the UAE, Toyota has established itself firmly and has created a bond of trust with the customers.
Further, strengthening the bond, Toyota recently launched its latest offering in the SUV segment - the Rush. Here’s all you need to know about this new SUV.
1- Modern-day styling
Being a car of the modern times, the Rush has been given a stylish treatment. It has got the aesthetics of a modern-day SUV. It appears to be very angry and displays a mind-your-business-type of front profile. This look comes from the sharp and sleek LED headlights that are complemented by DRLs made from a strip of LEDs. The big front grille that proudly houses the Toyota logo with those wide horizontal chrome slates further enhances the mean look of the car.
To eliminate the soberness from the side profile, Toyota has provided a long character line that runs through both the door handles. The design of the 17-inch alloy wheels also makes the Rush an attractive vehicle to look at from the side. Also, the last window has an interesting shape that adds to the overall style quotient of the SUV.
The rear end of the new Rush wears a pair of large wrap-around tail lights and a sporty roof-mounted spoiler. The design of the bumper is such that it enhances the mature and solid appearance of the car.
2- Interior space, comfort, and features
The all-new Toyota Rush is a 7-seater SUV. So, it has to make sure that when fully occupied each passenger is comfortably seated. To achieve that, Toyota has utilized the long wheelbase of the car optimally. There’s a generous amount of space for the occupants in all the three rows. There are bottle holders available in each row that allows you to store 13 bottles in total.
To further enhance the comfort level, Toyota has provided a very powerful air conditioning system which maintains a nominal temperature without any hiccups, and irrespective of the outside environment. There’s also a rear cooler integrated into the roof which boosts comfort level at the rear seats.
The overall interior layout of the Rush is pretty simple. It’s got a large display in the centre of the dashboard which allows you to take care of various functions and has AUX, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity. Below that are present the controls for the air conditioner. The steering wheel appears to have a basic touch along with a few mounted controls. Behind it sits the instrument panel that has integrated speedometer and tachometer with chrome surrounds. The multi-information display displays fuel efficiency in an intuitive format, together with an eco-bar indicator.
3- Engine and transmission
Toyota launched the Rush with only a single engine option and one type of gearbox. The engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mill that is compliant with Euro 4 emission norms. It produces a total power output of 103 hp at 6,000 revs and generates 135 Nm of peak torque that kicks in at 4,200 revs. There’s no manual transmission available with this engine. You only get the 4-speed automatic gearbox.
4- Safety features
Safety is one of the top-most priorities for Toyota. That’s why the Rush is loaded with various latest safety features to keep you and your family away from any harm. Along with dual front airbags, the Rush also gets side/curtain airbags. Other safety features include are ABS, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and an anti-theft system with immobilizer and alarm.
5- Price and color
The Rush is available in the Middle East only in one variant - EX 1.5L - that is priced at AED 68,500. It does come in a variety of color options that you can choose from - White, Silver Mica Metallic, Dark Red Mica Metallic, Bronze Mica Metallic, and Black Metallic.
