5 Reasons why we love the all-new Toyota Rush

Toyota Rush was launched in the UAE market in May this year. This new vehicle is supposed to cater to the needs of those customers who are looking for an affordable 7-seater compact SUV, without compromising on the interior space. Although, the Rush is also available in other countries in different trims, for the Middle East Toyota has decided to provide only the 7-seater trim that comes with only a single engine option. And this is not something to sweat about, which you would realize once you drive this huge vehicle. Here are top 5 reasons why we love the Rush.

1- Looks and styling

They say that the first impression is the last impression. Toyota made sure that the Rush is designed in such a way that it definitely leaves a big imprint on the looker’s mind. The Rush carries itself with pride. Its huge front end is spectacular and daunting at the same time. The large headlamps along with the nicely designed LED DRLs give the Rush a stylish appearance. Also, the broad and large horizontal chrome slats of the front grille enhance the overall stance of the SUV. The front bumper has been designed to carry forward the intimidating look, and the sharp, angular design of the fog lamps surrounds gives a touch of sportiness.

The side view of the Rush is kept a bit busy by a very subtle character line that starts from the front door and merges into the tail light. Also, the design of the alloy wheels is outstanding. They look very stylish and make the Rush look sporty. The rear end of the Rush features a wide two-piece combination tail lights that suit the huge dimensions of the car. The boot lid has got some sharp lines and design to keep the sporty character alive even at the rear. Talking about sportiness, there’s also a small roof-mounted spoiler.

2- Trustworthy engine

Toyota is known for building reliable vehicles. This tag mostly defines its durable engines. The Rush is no exception. Toyota has used the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that you’d find in the Toyota Yaris and even in the previous generation of the Rush itself. This inline 4-cylinder engine has been tuned in a state to produce a max power of 103 bhp at 6,000 revs and generates a peak torque of 135 Nm at 4,200 revs. The transmission here in duty is a 4-speed automatic unit.

This combination is a perfect fit for the Toyota Rush. The engine is tried and tested in other vehicles and is a trustworthy unit. Toyota has made sure that it feels more refined than before so that the overall driving experience is enhanced, and also the ride quality is smooth.

3- Spacious and quality interior

The Toyota Rush measures 4435 mm in length, 1695 mm in width, and 1705 mm in height. This gives it a long wheelbase, which Toyota has utilized brilliantly when it comes to interior space. Even though the Rush is a compact SUV, it doesn’t feel like once you step into its cabin.

There is a good amount of space for the occupants both in the front and second row. They shouldn’t have any issue regarding the head or legroom. However, the space in the last or third row isn’t that generous but is still appreciable. It would be better suited for kids. But the seats on all the rows are comfortable and offer good support.

You sit quite high in the 2018 Rush and this gives you a commanding driving position. Also, the design of the dashboard along with the wide and large front windshield gives a good view of outside which, in turn, boosts your driving confidence.

The quality of the interior is pretty good. Obviously, it isn’t something that you would find in a full-size more expensive SUVs, but it’s just sufficient enough. The three-spoke steering wheel feels nice to hold and has got a few mounted controls for audio. Behind the wheel sits a large instrument cluster with a digital display in between the two dials that show various information.

4- Safety features

Toyota has given prime focus on the safety features of the Rush. That’s why this SUV comes with dual front airbags, along with side airbags (front seats only), and curtain airbags that cover all the three rows. This really enhances the safety score of the car.

Other advanced features that you’d get with the Rush include Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Child Restraint System (ISO-Fix), rear parking sensors, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), etc.

5- Ride quality

The new Toyota Rush has got an improved ride quality thanks to its overall structure, that is not boxy anymore when compared to its previous generations. Also, the larger 17-inch alloy wheels make sure the car is well planted even at high speeds. Plus, the seats are quite comfortable as well. Also, the high ground clearance of the Rush makes sure that you easily cross over obstacles on your path without scraping the underbody.

The 2018 Toyota Rush is available at a price of AED 68,500 and offers a whole lot at this price point.
