The cabin layout is progressive, highlighted by subtle use of chrome around the dashboard, console and steering wheel. Peugeot’s i-Cockpit brings elegance to the upmarket cabin, layered with some high-tech gadgets such as a more compact steering wheel and a large 8-inch capacitive touch screen reminiscent of a tablet. Also, there is a 12.3-inch head-up display with various assistance tech within reach of the driver’s seat. The six piano-key toggle switches on the Peugeot cockpit provide direct access to prominent functions such as radio navigation, climate control, telephone, mobile applications, and vehicle parameters. Besides, the raised ride height offers better visibility from inside, giving a better view of the road to the driver and occupants. 

Built on the company’s latest platforms, the Peugeot 3008 gets rid of the conventional French people-carrier semblance for a progressive design highlighted by tighter and dynamic lines. Also, the sturdy underpinnings provide strength to the structure that has grown in size as compared to the previous model. A floating roof and chrome finishing on the outside are some of the talking points of the contemporary styling. Key elements such as front grille with chrome facets, sharp halogen headlamps bring elegance to the face. Also optional are chequered radiator grille and all-LED headlamp units with integrated DRLs that can be availed only with the higher variants. Rendering a robust look at the front is the ribbed bonnet, while the chrome wing inserts and the roof arch made of stainless steel accentuate the flexuous lines. The rear too has been styled in the same fashion, featuring elements such as a gloss black rear panel, 3D effect LED claw lights and LED daytime running lights among others. Talking of the Peugeot 3008 colour options, it comes in 10 monotone shades in metallic and solid finishing. 

With an adept suspension set-up aboard and several technical aides for driver’s assistance, it is no surprise this crossover glides well on the roads, offering effortless handling and comfortable ride quality. 

Powered by a 1.6-litre, TC l4 unit, the Peugeot 3008 specifications include a single unit tuned to make 165 hp of top power and 240 Nm torque. As for the Peugeot 3008 mileage, it is rated at 17.2 km/l. In terms of performance, this unit achieves the 100 km/h mark in just 8.9 seconds while attaining a top speed of 206 km/h. 

With an overall five-star adult rating in the Euro NCAP crash test, the five-door compact crossover ticks all the right boxes when it comes to safety. The standard kit packs prominent active safety features such as six airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic braking distribution. Emergency braking assist, enhanced park assist, adaptive cruise control with stop function and stability control among several others. 

Aesthetically, the five-seater compact crossover has matured, embracing the more contemporary design over the conventional people carrier look. Even though it packs some of the preeminent technical aides, the standard kit comes bereft of the high-tech features that are reserved for the higher variants. Also, the pricing pinches a bit in comparison to rivals in the segment.
