KIA Tasman

Officially unveiled at the 2024 Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia, the all-new Kia Tasman is the Korean carmaker’s first-ever mid-size pickup truck. Set to be launched in the UAE in 2025, the new 2025 Tasman will be manufactured at Kia’s production facility in South Korea for the world.

For the UAE car market, the 2025 Kia Tasman will be exclusively available in the top-spec X-Line variant. The colour choices for the new Tasman officially unveiled by Kia are Aurora Black, Cityscape Green, Clear White, Denim Blue, Interstellar Grey, Runway Red, Snow White, Steel Grey and Tan Beige, and it will be interesting to see which of these colours will make way in the UAE-spec Tasman. 

With a length of 5,410mm, a width of 1,930mm and a height of 1,920mm, the Kia Tasman is one of the largest mid-size pickup trucks. The overall design language of the Kia Tasman is a tribute to the older designs of the Korean car brand, with its squared stance and contoured panels making you of the older Kia SUVs. 

The heightened bonnet of the Kia Tasman has round edges, with the pickup having an almost vertical fascia with a blacked-out grille having rectangular inserts. The lower-positioned, vertically aligned LED headlamps have vertical LED DRLs on their outer edges. The Kia Tasman also has rugged-looking off-road front and rear bumpers with thick plastic mouldings at the front. With 17-inch machined alloy wheels, the Kia Tasman also has rounded rectangular tail lamps with LED inserts. 

The UAE market is expected to get the new 2025 Kia Tasman midsize pickup truck with an all-black theme for its interior, which will likely also get contrast red accents on the dashboard, door panels and steering wheel to go well with the theme of the X-Line trim. The Kia Tasman has already been showcased with the new-generation multi-functional steering wheel with the new centre boss having an off-set Kia logo.

The fully digital cockpit of the Kia Tasman is a rectangular screen with rounded edges, which houses 12.3-inch full-TFT screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system. Much of the dashboard has a mesh design across its width, which seamlessly integrates the AC vents within it. While there are two glove boxes on the co-passenger side of the dashboard, the Kia Tasman also has sleek buttons for the climate control and audio system and a scooped housing in the lower centre console for smartphone chargers, with cup holders behind it. 

The 2025 Kia Tasman has been confirmed to get two engine options – a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, both of which might make their way into the UAE car market. The transmission choices for these two engine options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

With an all-new appeal, the Kia Tasman is about to enter a hotly-contested mid-size pickup segment of the UAE, which also includes the likes of Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi L200.
