Haval H6

After charming with its unique exterior design, the cabin of the Haval H6 also looks very fresh and modern with the right use of design elements and contemporary features on board. The use of clean lines and crisp-looking screens make the cabin of the Haval H6 fresh and modern.

The driver’s cockpit of the Haval H6 looks impressive with the positioning of a rectangular full-TFT instrument console behind the chunky-looking Y-themed multi-functional steering wheel, which has silver accents on the spokes.

While the upper layer of the dashboard looks flat and clean it gets a brown soft-touch leather, the lower layers get a soft-touch finish with a black layout. The centre console of the cabin of the Haval H6 comprises a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, slim AC vents and a minimalist panel for the dual-zone automatic climate control buttons.

The slanted panel for the lower centre console gets a gloss black finish, with the cabin looking further premium with the red-themed leather upholstery and silver accents on the door panels. More additional features like heated and powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and fully-automatic parking make the overall experience more comfortable.

The Haval H6 has to be praised for the unique design it has for its exterior. The H6 looks fresh and sharp from whichever angle you look at it, making it a sheer attention grabber and giving it a striking road presence.

Following a ‘futuristic simplicity’ design philosophy, the Haval H6 has a bold-looking front profile, consisting of a large hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds and diamond-shaped inserts. The upper edges of the grille are flanked by slim horizontal headlamps, which offer all-LED illumination. The corners of the front bumper have vertically aligned triangular housings for tiny LED fog lamps, while the middle part of the bumper has a wide air dam with L-shaped gloss black inserts on the corners.

The Haval H6 has a striking road presence and good height when viewed from the side, making it look tall and long. While the chrome finish for the window surrounds and lower part of the door panels looks nice and premium, the black cladding over the wheel arches and lower door panels gives it a rugged appeal. Even the 18-inch alloy wheels and door-mounted rearview mirrors give it a sporty appeal.

The uniqueness in the design of the Haval H6 is retained in the rear profile too, with the SUV having a wide LED connecting bar joining the LED combination tail lamps. The unique positioning of the license plate housing, which looks wide and has a slim chrome garnish above it, adds to the distinctive look of the rear profile.

With a standard four-wheel drive system and multiple drive modes offered in the Haval H6 as standard, the SUV feels stable and composed in all types of tarmac conditions. However, one should keep in mind that the H6 is not a proper off-roader, though it offers mild ability over irregular tarmac conditions.

The UAE market gets the Haval H6 with one standard powertrain combination of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 201 PS and a peak torque output of 320 Nm, and channels the power produced to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive configuration.

In addition to the basic like airbags all around, ABS with EBD, front and reverse parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera and hill hold assist, the Haval H6 also gets a range of ADAS features like autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and fatigue monitoring.

The Haval H6 might have Chinese origins, but it is one sorted SUV in terms of design, equipment levels and premium feel inside-out, like a typical European SUV.
