Figo corroborates the fact that an affordable vehicle can be also fun to ride in. Not only can it accommodate 5 occupants and their luggage with ease, it is also brimming with convenience features. The effective air conditioning system, an AM/FM stereo/ single CD player with MP3, AUX and USB stability and two speakers are just the start. A tilt steering column that helps in getting perfect driving position further adds to the comfort level of the car. The car offers a boot space of 284 litres that is quite decent to say the least in the league.

Exteriors:

At first glance it is hard to absorb the changes but, with Ford calling it the enhanced Kinetic Design, the face-lift Figo holds a new look front fascia with hexagonal grille and redesigned headlamps. The Fog lights also get bezels in making them more effective against the dark. Moving on to the side, the suavely designed 14 inches alloy wheels add a lot more character to the car. The overall dimensions of the car stand out to be 3795 mm X 1680 mm X 1427 mm (L X B X H) and the wheelbase measures 2489 mm that gives decent cabin space to the occupants.

Engine, Mileage & variants:

The family hatchback is equipped with 1.4 litre manual transmission gasoline engine that churns out maximum power of 83 Hp at 6000 rpm and maximum torque measures 127 Nm at 4000 rpm. The second option of 1.6 litre automatic transmission engine draws maximum power of 98 Hp at 6500 rpm and maximum toque measures 142 Nm at 4000 rpm. Figo is not a car that you can unleash on a race track but still it offers commendable acceleration. The 1.6 litre engine can dispatch 0-100 km/hr in 11.5 seconds clocking a top speed of 178 km/hr. With the 1.4 litre gasoline engine, you will get a mileage of approximately 20 kmpl which is quite appreciable.

Safety, Braking And Miscellaneous:

The braking and handling in Figo is as mature as another fully loaded sedan, thanks to the power assisted steering and front stabilizer bar. The braking system consists of disc brakes in front and drum brakes in rear that are further coupled with Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) for effective braking system. The dual front air bags along with 3- point safety belts for outboard seating ensure safety during a collision of the occupants in a significant manner. The disc brakes incorporated in the front and the drum brakes at the rear works in harmonics with Anti-Lock Breaking System to deliver a superior control over the vehicle on any kind of terrain.

Verdict:

Ford Figo is an endearing hatchback that offers significant comfort features to the occupants. However the boot space offered is not satisfactory.
