For a mid-size SUV, the Exeed TXL is priced very competitively. The prices of the Exeed TXL start at AED 105,000 for the base-spec Comfort variant, with the mid-spec Luxury variant priced at AED 110,000. The top-spec Flagship variant with all the bells and whistles has been priced at AED 120,000. 

How many variants of the Exeed TXL are available in the UAE?

There are three variants in the Exeed TXL that are offered in the UAE. The base-spec variant is the Comfort, which is exclusively available with a smaller 1.6-litre petrol engine. The lower-spec Luxury and top-spec Flagship variants are offered with a larger 2.0-litre petrol engine, with all-wheel drive offered exclusively in the Flagship variant as standard. 

Which variant of the Exeed TXL offers the best value?

In our opinion, the mid-spec Luxury variant of the Exeed TXL offers the best value-for-money proposition. It offers the larger 2.0-litre petrol engine and many additional comfort, convenience and safety features over the base-spec Comfort variant. In addition to this, the Luxury variant also shares much of the exterior, interior and safety features with the Flagship variant.

The Luxury variant misses out on all-wheel drive and a few ADAS features while riding on 19-inch wheels which are relatively smaller than the 20-inch wheels of the Flagship variant. For majority of the car owners, these additional attributes might not make sense for the premium asked by the Flagship variant, making the Luxury variant a more compelling option. 

What are the key features of the Exeed TXL?

On the outside, all the variants of the Exeed TXL come equipped with all-LED headlamps and tail lamps, front and rear fog lamps, roof rails, LED trunk lighting, alloy wheels (19-inch in the Comfort and Luxury variants and 20-inch in the Flagship variant) and power-adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors with memory function. 

The cabin of the Exeed TXL also has common features like a centre armrest with refrigerating function, powered tailgate, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, rear seat centre armrest, leather seats, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console, 14-speaker audio system and wireless charger in all the variants.

The mid-spec Luxury and top-spec Flagship variants add more features like a panoramic sunroof and air purifier, while the illuminated door sills and digital video recorder are exclusively available in the Flagship variant.

Is the Exeed TXL spacious?

The Exeed TXL measures 4,780 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,730mm tall while having one of the longest wheelbases in its segment – 2,800mm. The long wheelbase and significant width of the Exeed TXL give it a sufficient room in the cabin for five people with appreciable legroom, knee room, and shoulder room.

What are the engine and transmission options for the Exeed TXL?

The base-spec Comfort variant is available with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and claims 194 bhp of power and 290 Nm of torque. A larger 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is offered in Luxury and Flagship variants, which produces 257 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque, while paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is exclusively available in the top-spec Flagship variant. 

What is the fuel efficiency of the Exeed TXL?

While the smaller 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine of the Exeed TXL delivers fuel efficiency of 14.7 kmpl, the SUV claims a figure of 13.5 kmpl with the larger 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

The Exeed TXL might not be technically the finest mid-size SUV. However, for the price at which it is being offered, it delivers one of the best size-to-price ratios. This also results in a practical and spacious cabin, which is nicely equipped with modern features. The TXL has a long way to go in establishing a reliable and strong brand name like its Japanese and European rivals, but for its price, it offers itself as a decently rounded product.
