BMW 3 Series Sedan

The interior of the 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan is plush and super-comfortable. The seats and upholstery are leather. There's an optional vegan alternative available. Top-quality materials have been used all throughout the cabin. The dashboard is dominated by two curved touchscreen units that comprise a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a14.9-inch infotainment display that's connected to a multi-speaker audio system. The high-res units look great and are readable even in direct sunlight. Both run on BMW's iDrive 8 software that's snappy and easy to navigate. The 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan comes with good storage options. The big door bins get a separate section to hold water bottles. There’s a pair of decent cup-holders, sensibly located next to the gear selector. But these aren't much deep. The gear selector itself is now a small toggle switch, unlike the big thumb-type unit in the earlier model. Climate control is via physical buttons. The rear seat gets a central armrest with cupholders. 

The front of the 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan gets the signature kidney grille with vertical chrome slats. The grille itself has been mildly redesigned but hasn’t mushroomed into the buck-toothed excess found on the 4-Series. A longish bonnet, short overhangs, horizontal lines, and flared rear wheel arches add a superior dimension to the car while retaining the sporty intent. The car gets all-around LED lighting. It now comes with new inverted C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), similar to the BMW X1. The taillight lenses get darker glass surrounds. The two exhaust outlets get chrome treatment. The car runs on 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan has a spacious cabin. The standard sports seats are nicely bolstered and supportive. They offer great extensive adjustment, and it's easy to get the most comfortable posture. The seat padding extends all the way out to cover the wheel arch. Occupants on the front seats don't have to bump against hard metal. The front seats get impressive headroom and legroom. Space on the rear seat is sumptuous, and three passengers can comfortably travel in it without cramming. But a massive transmission tunnel runs through the centre. Other than the minor hindrance, the middle rear seat is actually quite roomy. Back support on all seats is great. The suspension is soft, and the car rides well around town. The optional sportier 3-Series adaptive suspension copes better with bumps.

The 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan 320i is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 184 PS/270 Nm. The motor is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic. The powertrain setup is retained from the earlier model. Acceleration is quick and authoritative. The engine never feels underpowered, nor does it compromise with the level of refinement. The sports mode and paddle shifters alter genes and make the BMW 3-Series Sedan more enjoyable to drive. The transmission controls extreme rapid shifts smoothly. The 50:50 weight distribution is very effective at corners.

The 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan gets rear and front sensors, rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking as part of its standard equipment. The optional Active Parking Plus system comes with a three-dimensional camera that makes parking easier. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires have great traction and stops the car instantly.

At a starting price of AED 185,000, the 2024 BMW 3-Series Sedan 320i is among the most expensive cars in its segment. But it offers luxury travelling comfort unmatched by most of its rivals. It's targeted at those who prefer premium over anything else.
