Toyota GT86 GR is all set to enter Europe
ABU DHABI: The Japanese automaker is all set to launch the GT86 GR in Spain, Europe. After filing the trademark for 86GR, Toyota Espana has finally released a teaser on the Facebook page that features the GT86 by Gazoo Racing along with a caption “It’s all a matter of passion for speed.”
After completing the trademark formalities for the 86 GR and the Yaris names usage in the European markets, Toyota has made hints more pronounced, courtesy of the released teaser. It won’t be too far now for the launch to take place. However, nothing official has been said or stated in the same regard at the moment.
The GR nomenclature has been borrowed by the Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division. This also means that sporty equipment that the GT86 gets is a direct inspiration from the race-oriented model. You can also expect a tuned suspension setup to be fitted on the GT86 GR.
Talking about the Japanese version of the GT86 GR, it gets Recaro seats, six-piston Brembo brakes at the front and four-piston Brembo brakes at the back. Additionally, it features robust 17-inch Rays alloy wheels and a Torsen limited-slip differential. To add icing on the cake, there is a special GR Sport package that constitutes more appealing cosmetic elements, tweaked mechanics and Sachs dampers.
In the engine department, the GT86 GR is expected to get a 2.0-litre flat-four engine that’s capable of producing a max power of 205 PS. The power mill will get the 6-speed manual gearbox and an automatic transmission system with the same number of gears.
