The last coupe from Pagani Huayra: Meet the L’Ultimo
ABU DHABI: Well, Pagani Huayra’s 100 car build-run has come to a halt. But as expected, the Italian car making giant is retiring in style with the launch of L’Ultimo.
The model is inspired by Lewis Hamilton and it bears various essentials of the Huayra evolution including the Tempesta aerodynamic kit and the track-oriented Huayra BC.
So, there is the regular 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo engine built to deliver a maximum power of 789 hp and a peak torque of 1,100 Nm along with the carbon front splitter, skirts and diffuser from Tempesta to produce a heavy downforce. The hood scoop and the full-length rear wing is similar to the Cinque and BC models, all composed of lightweight carbon fiber. The hood gets the Green highlights from Petronas similar to what was seen on the Hamilton’s Sunday driver. The interiors are layered with leather finished in turquoise green and white leather seats with classic gold highlighting. The L’Ultimo also houses the Sonus Faber 1200w sound system for ultimate entertainment.
It has been a good journey for Huayra that started in 2012 as the successor of the most loved “Zonda".The Huayra is made of 4,700 parts in total and it produces a breath-taking sound, all thanks to the turbocharged 12 Cylinder Mercedes-AMG engine.
Horacio Pagani used some innovative techniques with the Huayra, similar to what he had done with the Countach Evoluzione. Pagani alloyed carbon fiber and titanium together for making the body parts of the L’Ultimo and as a result, it ended up in a stronger and a lighter body.
When the Huayra was crowned as the Hypercar of the year back in 2013, it had a pricing of £800,000 (AED 3,98,0327), which was three times the price of Lamborghini Aventador.
As evident from the past, Pagani has a history of losing count of how many cars it has produced. Could the same happen with the Huayra as well? Well, Horacio could be tempted for sure, if the pricing is right.
