Skoda Octavia facelift sketches out; debut on February 14

ABU DHABI: The Octavia has been Skoda’s best-seller for years. Since its introduction in 1996, it has achieved around 7 million sales globally. Now, in its fourth generation, the Octavia is up for an upgrade.

The automaker has recently released multiple design sketches of the all-new 2024 Skoda Octavia, which is scheduled for a global premiere on February 14. The carmaker has assured that both the range-topping vRS and Sportline variants will be available as a part of the lineup.

As revealed in the sketches, the new Octavia facelift features a new front grille, redesigned bumpers, and updated headlights. Although the interior design of the Octavia facelift has not been revealed yet, we expect it to feature new upholstery, revamped centre console and dashboard, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system, among others.

The specific powertrain details of the Octavia facelift have not been confirmed yet but it's expected to offer turbo petrol, mild-hybrid, turbo diesel, and a plug-in hybrid configuration like the other models in its lineup.

Later this decade, the Octavia is also expected to receive an electric variant, featuring an upgraded 89kWh battery pack with a 595 km WLTP range and up to 200kW charging rate.

Currently, Skoda has not revealed anything about the launch of the Octavia facelift in the UAE. A total of eight Skoda cars are available in the region. Among them, the most budget-friendly model is the Skoda Scala available at a starting price of AED 73,000.
