Rolls-Royce has revealed a one-of-a-kind Phantom Cherry Blossom in the UAE, combining Japanese tradition with unmatched craftsmanship and the brand’s first-ever 3D embroidery application. Read on as we explore the magic behind Rolls-Royce’s most floral Bespoke creation yet.

A Tribute to Life’s Fleeting Beauty

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a special Phantom Extended model, named Phantom Cherry Blossom, celebrating the Japanese tradition of Hanami. Commissioned by a Japanese client, the car reflects memories of cherry blossom season—symbolizing the transience of life.

“Cherry blossoms are cherished in Japan as a symbol of the ephemeral nature of life,” said Martina Starke, General Manager, Bespoke Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

This vehicle is more than a car; it's a generational gift, meant to share the emotional essence of Hanami with the client’s family for years to come.

Inside the Cherry Blossom Experience

The car’s interior brings the outdoors inside, simulating the feeling of sitting beneath a blooming tree. Key interior features are:

• Over 250,000 stitches.
• Embroidered cherry tree spreading across the Starlight Headliner.
• Petals falling gracefully onto doors and privacy partition.
• Crafted using ancient Japanese tatami-inspired stitch techniques.

The embroidery was developed over six months, with three weeks dedicated solely to the headliner. The visual flow from rear to front mimics nature’s random yet graceful fall of petals.

3D Embroidery: A First for Rolls-Royce

For the first time ever, Rolls-Royce used sculptural 3D embroidery. These standout details appear on the privacy divider and involve layering thread into self-supporting forms, hand-shaped and stitched into place.

This breakthrough adds a tactile, artistic element that enhances the immersive floral experience.

Exterior and Hidden Touches

Even the Phantom’s exterior and accessories carry the theme. The Crystal over Arctic White paint is enhanced with a hand-painted coachline featuring a cherry blossom. Inside the door umbrellas, a falling petal motif adds yet another layer of detail.
