RemetzCar unveiled specially-designed Tesla Model S Shooting Brake
ABU DHABI: The Dutch coachbuilder RemetzCar who previously worked on building the Hearse based on the Model S is in the talks yet again. This time RemetzCar has transformed the Model S into an estate version, the Tesla Model S Shooting Brake and the result is absolutely stunning.
The design sketches of the Shooting Brake are courtesy of Niels van Roji who is a Dutch automotive designer and owns an independent design firm in the UK. The craftsmen at RemetzCar took these sketches and build a real car out of it. The project saw the light of day due to the much-needed support from Vredestein, which is a premium tyre manufacturer based out of the Netherlands.
RemetzCar did a fantastic job reworking with the design and making the final result look as good and appealing as the original. Up front, the chrome treatment adds to the stunning Tesla look, which isn’t just at the front, it runs all the way to the rear along the roofline from the A-pillars. The periphery of the panoramic roof is also accentuated with chrome.
The rear section is where most of the effort has been put. The stock C-pillar has been replaced by a custom-made one which gels with rest of the design just perfect. At the back, it gets a new tailgate with an integrated spoiler, a concealed window wiper, and a 3rd brake light. The sparkling green metallic colour is what steals our heart away. It makes the Shooting Brake look dashing and striking enough to turn heads along the road.
Floris de Raadt, the Dutch collectioneur said, "The idea was to translate my Tesla Model S into a dynamic and sporty yet elegant Shooting Brake, rather than creating a car with maximum luggage space. Niels van Roij Design developed several options for the conversion, focusing on premium design combined with limited conversion costs, thus making coach building available for a larger group of connoisseurs. Our favourite was the option called 'Bold Chrome', featuring remarkable high gloss chrome window trims emphasizing the bold dynamic lines of the car. The result is truly stunning!"
