Open-top McLaren Elva with no windows introduced
Like the Elva M1A of the 60s, the new McLaren Elva gets no formal windows. The roof is absent too along with the windshield, however, you can get the windshield as an option in select markets like the US. The Elva is referred to as the aerodynamic ‘bubble’ wherein the occupants will be encapsulated to experience the thrill of speed.
The aerodynamics of the supercar is handled by channelling air through the nose and the vent positioned in front of the passenger area at the front. There is an active deflector that rises to up to 5.9 inches to traverse past the turbulent air over the passenger area leaving the occupants inside the Elva at ease and in relative calm.
The carbon-fibre made supercar is powered by a V8 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that produces a blistering power of 815 PS while being mated to a 7-speed transmission system. The supercar can sprint to 100 kmph in less than 3 seconds and to 200 kmph in 6.7 seconds.
Inside, the McLaren Elva gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and some appreciable storage space in the rear tonneau that is good for accommodating two helmets.
The production of this supercar is limited to only 399 units. If you wish to grab one, then you need to shell out $US 1.69 million (AED 62,07,032 approx). The deliveries are slated to begin in the latter part of 2020.
