Nissan GT-R50 is about to hit production
ABU DHABI: Nissan GT-R50 has been confirmed to hit the production phase and only 50 units will be made in the limited run. Also, the carmaker has claimed that it will deliver this limited edition car by the second half of the coming year. It has been given a price tag of around AED 4,152,700.
The concept model of GT-R50 is built on the platform of the GT-R Nismo facelift and will be getting the 3.8-litre VR38DETT V6 petrol engine. It is tuned to churn out a maximum power of 720 PS, which comes at 7,100 rpm and the peak torque of 780 Nm comes between 3,600 rpm and 5,600 rpm.
The power output has been increased by 120 PS and 128 Nm respectively. The main reasons behind this enhancement are the GT3-spec turbochargers (which are now larger), higher-flow fuel injectors, optimised ignition, exhaust systems, and bigger intercoolers. The vehicle adopts the all-wheel-drive system of GT-R’s ATTESA E-TS and the drive is sent to the wheels via a six-speed dual clutch transmission.
As for the design, the production car is similar to the concept model. It comes with a two-tone Liquid Kinetic Grey paint job. The vehicle features four round tail lights and the adjustable rear wing is large in size.
Nissan has done some modifications in the chassis as well. It now features a new Bilstein DampTronic with adjustable damping system. The braking duties are done by Brembo disc brakes that are completely new. The front brakes have six-piston callipers, while the rear ones get four-piston units. The car will drive on the 21-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear wheels are wrapped in 255 mm and 285 mm Michelin Pilot tyres respectively.
Getting inside the car, the Nissan GT-R50 has the familiar gold theme. The dash gets wrapped in black Alcantara and there are carbon-fibre trimmings too. The bucket seats get black Italian leather upholstery.
