Mclaren unveils Verdant Theme Grand Tourer by MSO
ABU DHABI: McLaren has recently lifted the veil off its latest creation which is hailed as the Verdant Theme GT by MSO. Engineers at Mclaren have played very intelligently with colors and shades. They have chosen a unique satin triple tone color paint and seamlessly applied it to the Grand Tourer in such a way that the paint reflects from light to dark. Probably, this is the first time when the auto industry folks experimented with color combinations playfully.
On looking closely at this stunning shaded beauty, you see three greenish shades of paint from head to toe. The shades include Horsell Green, Arbor and Steppe Green, all of them exclusively created for this GT.
Mclaren claims that it took the engineers and workforce, approximately 430 hours of painstaking work to achieve the unique progression of shades, that have never been tested before. It must surely be one of the most complex painting tasks undertake by MSO, till date.
Time has witnessed that Mclaren has always presented something extraordinary at the Geneva Motor Show, every year. Following the tradition this year also, Mclaren has presented its newest offering despite the cancellation of the event.
The paint job is brought to accomplishment with hand-painted pinstripe hues in Napier Green on the body and front splitter. Brake calipers are also added with a touch of Napier Green. Besides that, the other intriguing beauty of this Mclaren piece is the black pack adding contrast with the glossy black wheels, window surrounds and exhaust.
Color combination extends to the interior of the car also. Dark Green, Jet Black and Laurel Green leather and micro-piping has been incorporated to the interior, making it all the more appealing. Additionally, the green shades perfectly contrast with the charcoal grey cashmere. In the history of automotive, this is the first time that cashmere has been applied to the interior of any car. Mclaren claims that this designing application took MSO 18 months to bring it to perfection. Cashmere is applied to the door insertions, center tunnel, dashboard and the upper back section of the seats.
There is also an exclusive embroidered logos and an MSO logo with laser technique, engraved on the accelerator pedal.
Besides all the color hues and cosmetic changes, nothing much has been changed at the heart of the car. The GT is powered by a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine which can spark 620 PS at 7,500 rpm and 630 Nm of torque from 5,500 to 6,500 rpm. Seamless shift gearbox can ignite the GT to reach from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 9.0 seconds and can attain a top speed of whooping 326 kmph.
McLaren believes in offering a wide range of sophisticated and elegant canvas in the form of artistic cars. Owners should also have more and more ways of personalizing the car. With such innovation and styling techniques, we cannot even anticipate the price of Verdant Theme GT.
