McLaren to unveil 600 LT Spider by MSO at Geneva
ABU DHABI: As a tribute to the 675LT, McLaren is giving a taste of its customisation programme to its customers. This is where the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) comes into the picture with its 600LT that will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2019.
The exterior of this car is done in solid Dove Grey paint scheme. Adding highlights to the front splitters, sills, rear diffuser, and door inserts is the Napier Green color. This green color is reminiscent of the 675LT, as it was one of its original hues. It has only been available as an MSO Bespoke color since then. These Napier Green accents are produced using a new technique where the paint is applied onto a light, flexible film, and it is the first time for McLaren road cars.
This process ensures superior quality and color match. The contrast-color film will be available as a bespoke option in the future. Other exterior elements include front fender louvers made from carbon-fibre along with a retractable hard-top finished in MSO Bespoke Carbon Black. Napier Green is also used on the brake callipers which are surrounded by 10-spoke gloss black alloy wheels.
The green hue carries forward to the interiors with contrast stitching on the seats, door inserts, and on the 12 o’clock maker on the steering wheel. Other MSO Bespoke additions include Alcantara headlining and steering wheel, 600LT headrest embroidery, unpainted carbon fibre for door inserts/tunnel sides, pedal etched with 600LT, and a MSO dedication plaque.
This track focused machine is powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 600 PS and 620 Nm of torque. All this power is delivered to the rear wheels with the help of a 7-speed dual-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox (SSG). Top speed is an impressive 324 kmph, and 0-100 kmph is finished in a mere 2.9 seconds.
MSO managing director, Ansar Ali said that the 600LT is perfect for showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail using innovative materials. It offers clients a way to customise their car and make it their own. The 600LT will be a limited production run with build slots scheduled around other Sports and Super Series models.
