Lamborghini Aventador SVJ reveals a glimpse of its ALA kit
ABU DHABI: After breaking the Nurburgring lap record, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has released another teaser ahead of its official launch at Pebble Beach. It displays a small part of the vehicle’s top portion without any camouflage.
Similar to the Huracan Peformante, the SVJ is able to deflect the air that strikes it using what they call it Aerofinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system.
As visible in the teaser, the new aerodynamics of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is more complex when compared to the Aventador S. The vehicle creates an extremely high downforce with its vents and outlet, enhanced by the large rear wing.
How do they function? Recently, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ was already declared as a winner when the beast after it took down the Porsche 911 GT2 RS by setting up a new production lap record of 6 min 44.97 seconds, while the 911 GT2 clocked at 6 min 47.3 seconds. The man behind the wheel was race driver Marco Mapelli and Pirelli engineers for support. The only difference between the production version SVJ and the actual driven SVJ is the tires. The production version will come with Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber.
Lamborghini has plans to reveal the Aventador SVJ in Monterey Car week in August and we have no clues about the specs of the racer. We can only assume considering its light weight that the vehicle will house a 6.5l V12 engine and weigh around 3,836 pounds, with about 740HP of power.
The Lamborghini team has revised software for its all-wheel-drive, rear steering and stability control. It is expected to have stiffer steering when compared to the previous versions.
For now, all we can do it wait for the Monterey car week which is to be held in August this year in California.
