Hyundai unveils i30N with N Option pack
ABU DHABI: Have you seen the new Hyundai i30N? It looks properly hot and race ready. In fact, after setting up their performance division a few years ago and headquartered nonetheless in Nurburgring, Hyundai unveiled the i30N last year. The i30N is fast becoming the go-to car for all those who were fed on a steady diet of Civic RS, Volkswagen Polo GTI and Ford Focus RS. Now, Hyundai is raising the temperature with the N option pack. The company has showcased i30N now with an N Option pack. This N Option pack will have more than 30 genuine go faster parts. These, the company says will help potential customers customise their vehicles in a better fashion.
If you ask us what these parts are, then apart from cosmetics many of them actually serve the purpose of going faster. There are the 20-inch alloys that have been designed to be of lightweight. These not only have a multi-spoke design but also have semi-slick tyres designed for speeds in excess of 230 kmph. Hyundai is also glad to offer a vented hood and done nonetheless in pure carbon fibre. The N grille too gets a red colour treatment. Any mode cannot be completed without a massive rear wing, eh? The N performance option pack has this one too. Apart from increasing the drag force, this one also gets you the necessary attention. Speaking of attention, there are the quad exhausts with a chrome tip.
The carbon fibre treatment continues in bits and parts on the inside as well. Hyundai has also made use of Alcantara leather upholstery now. This covers the seats, the dashboard elements, door pads as well as the steering wheel. The car also sits a tad lower now.
Hyundai has refused to divulge details on the powertrain or whether any changes have been made in the same. We believe there could be 15-20 PS more from the 2.0-litre turbocharged motor. So, it can be safely expected that with the N Performance Option pack, one can expect 280 PS from this engine. Will be quite a stonker, isn’t it?
The Korean carmaker will soon release the details and prices of the option pack. As of now, it is available only for the i30 N. However, in the near future, most of the Hyundai cars will be covered.
