Honda launches the 2018 Accord on the UAE soil

ABU DHABI: While on one side of the world people are going crazy over the much-awaited 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Here in the UAE, we have our share of happy news; Honda UAE has finally launched the all-new 2018 Accord. It was earlier today at the St. Regis Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club, Dubai where the Japanese company unveiled the new Accord to a limited crowd consisting of press members along with some company executives.

The all-new Accord carries a distinctive design language and dimension spec than its earlier version. While the front fascia gets revised headlights and fog lamp casing, the full chrome grille is what remains same. Moving sideways, we see body color ORVM and door handles, prominent wheel arches, plus the black cladding around the windows adds to the car's defining look. The rear ends geta wraparound tail lights, two chrome diffusers on either side and a sloppy rear windscreen that seamlessly merges with the tailgate.

The 2018 Accord is shorter, lower, and wider than its predecessor. On the exterior, this difference is visible in the form of lower and longer hood, shorter overhangs, and visual centre of gravity that has now moved closer the rear wheels. On the inside, this dimension change benefits the passengers in the form of improved leg space, cabin and booth area. Another significant change is seen on the A-pillar that is now 20 percent narrower, thus giving the driver better visibility in the blind-spot area.

The cabin of the new Accord has been revised only to look better and comfortable. In the long list of amenities are included premium upholstery, automatic climate control system, heads-up infotainment system, colored digital system, three-spoke control-mounted steering wheel and much more. The new Honda is also benefited by Honda Sensing system that offers ample amount of safety features including - Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Roda Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Low Speed Follow.

Honda is offering the all-new Accord in two engine options - a 1.5-litre turbocharged CVT mill producing 199 PS and 260 Nm. The second engine options is a Civic Type R borrowed 248 PS generating 2.0-litre turbocharged mill mated to 10-speed automatic transmission.

The said Honda car would soon be available at your nearest Honda dealership, giving you an option to choose between ten exterior and two interior hues.
