Honda introduces the hydrogen-powered CR-V with a 434 km range

ABU DHABI: Despite Honda's fuel-cell Clarity discontinuation in the past, the company has been working hard to develop its next-gen hydrogen vehicles. The CR-V e: FCEV is the latest addition to their lineup. It is the CR-V crossover’s hydrogen fuel-cell variant, scheduled for sale later this year.

With a 174 horsepower peak output and 229 pound-feet of torque, CR-V e: FCEV offers an EPA-estimated driving range of around 270 miles on hydrogen and around 29 miles on electricity alone. Its combined MPGe ratings are 52 highway, 61 city, and 57 combined.
The CR-V e: FCEV features unique visual touches like clear-lens tail lights, a redesigned front bumper, and an e: FCEV emblem on the tailgate. The CR-V e: FCEV’s high-spec Touring trim features amenities like a 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, heated bio-based leather seats, hands-free power tailgate, Honda Sensing suite and Bose audio system for advanced driver assistance.
To accommodate the fuel-cell system, Honda enhanced the torsional and rear lateral rigidity of CR-V by 9% and 10% respectively. Compared to other versions the CR-V e: FCEV is 2.8 inches longer.
The manufacturing of the hydrogen-powered CR-V is taking place at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, while the production of its fuel-cell module is being done in Brownstown, Michigan.
