Genesis G90 facelift launched with a redesigned exterior

ABU DHABI: Genesis Motors launched the G90 facelift in South Korea. The vehicle was introduced globally in 2015 and has now got a serious makeover. The G90 facelift showcases an all-new front as well as rear profile, which give the vehicle a distinct look from its predecessor.

The Genesis G90 facelift comes with a five-pointed shield as its logo, embedded above the chrome honeycomb grille. The outgoing model, on the other hand, has the six-pointed units paired with hexagon grille with horizontal slats. On the edges of the headlining grille, are placed the brand new LED headlamps.

The LED headlamps are available in four beams, divided by a DRL strip. The DRL strip further continues to the wheel arches. The vehicle rides on the 19-inch wheels. At the rear, the brand new G90 adorns a unique design.

The interior, however, doesn't tell the same story as the exterior, cuz Genesis had made only a few modifications. The cabin looks identical to the outgoing model, the manufacturer has only simplified the controls. The user interface of the infotainment system has been updated, and as a result, the driver will get over-the-air updates for both software as well as maps.

The Genesis G90 facelift features driver assist tech from Hyundai that comes with lane-centring and safe exit assist. Moreover, this tech also includes forward collision avoidance system, which can now identify the presence of bicycles.

The G90 facelift derives its power from the same 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, used by the ongoing model as well. It is capable of churning out a maximum power of 370 PS along with a peak torque of 510 Nm. The car is also available with a 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, which pushes out up to 426 PS of power and 520 Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. There is also an optional H-TRAC all-wheel drive terrain.
