Ford introduces exclusive Mustang 60th Anniversary Edition

ABU DHABI: To celebrate the sixth decade of the Mustang, Ford has come up with a special limited-edition edition, the Mustang 60th Anniversary Package. Only 1965 units of this special model will be produced, reflecting a nod to the first-generation Mustang’s debut in 1965. This unique production number pays homage to the enduring legacy and storied history of Mustang, highlighting its importance in automotive history.

For this seventh-generation Mustang’s special edition, Ford has chosen a nostalgic livery giving tribute to the original model. The special anniversary package boasts uniquely designed badges on the trunk lid and fender, reminding you of the original badge design of the first-generation Mustang. Additionally, the 20-inch wheels have center caps that seem to be inspired by the 1965 model, highlighted by a unique Vermillion Red paint complementing the badges. This design approach captures the classic Mustang’s essence while celebrating its heritage.

You can get the Mustang 60th Anniversary Package in Brittany Blue, a colour that was first offered in 1967, along with Race Red, Wimbledon White, and Vapor Blue. It boasts a new striking grille with silver-accented air intakes and a distinctive mesh design, flanked by smoked headlamps.

The Mustang 60th Anniversary Package shares the mechanicals with the V8-powered GT Premium. The engine produces a maximum power of 486 hp and a peak torque of 567 Nm. It also comes with a limited-slip rear differential, a 10-speed automatic transmission, Brembo brakes, and an active exhaust system.

The Mustang 60th Anniversary models will hit the US showrooms by the end of 2024, with bookings opening in the summer. Ford has not yet announced its pricing, but you can expect to pay around $58K (AED 213,860) for the convertible and $50K (AED 183,500) for the coupe, as this special package only comes with the GT Premium trim level.
