Ford Everest: What to expect?

According to the market reports, Ford will launch the Everest in the UAE market later this year. This is great news for SUV enthusiasts as most people in the region are looking for capable cars to go off-roading with but don’t want to spare huge bucks on something like a Bronco.

With the launch, the American automaker is expected to place Everest below the Explorer in the lineup for the UAE market. As a result, the pricing for the new car could be anywhere around the AED 130,000 to AED 170,000 mark. Moreover, as the pricing and specifications, the SUV will rival the Toyota Fortuner and Land Cruiser Prado and the much more reliable Nissan Pathfinder.

So, before the launch happens officially, we can discuss a few things we can expect. Let’s go through them!

Ford Everest Exterior

The new Ford Everest will be a rugged and athletic SUV that exudes confidence and capability, just like its international counterpart. The design language of the exterior will be very similar to the US-bound model, that is, it is bold and muscular, with a prominent front grille and imposing headlamps. The peninsula-like C-shaped DRLs will also be retained.

The front hood will be chiselled and have bold lines running across it. The flared wheel arches and chunky tires will lend the Everest an off-road appeal, while the high ground clearance and skid plates will give the car enthusiasts a green signal to go the off-beat way.

The use of premium materials and attention to detail is evident in the international model, which could also be carried forwards here. The top-of-the-line model could also get all-LED treatment and an electronic sunroof.

Ford Everest Interior

The cabin of the Ford Everest will be spacious and refined, with high-quality materials and attention to detail evident throughout the interior. The seats are expected to be well-padded and supportive, providing a comfortable ride for all passengers, similar to the international spec. In addition, the available leather upholstery options are expected to include leather to add a touch of elegance to the interior and might be complemented by the use of premium materials and soft-touch surfaces.

The car's dashboard layout is ergonomic, as the images suggest, with easy-to-reach controls and a user-friendly infotainment system with a 12-inch display. The screen size for the centre console and driver’s display may be subject to the international spec model. If so, we will be getting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to go along with the connectivity.

The SUV could be very versatile, with configurable seating arrangements. This will allow for a range of cargo and passenger combinations. As usual, the third-row seats will fold flat, providing ample cargo space when needed.

The available panoramic sunroof (though it may not be standard) will flood the interior with natural light, creating an open and airy feel. The Everest will also be equipped with advanced automatic climate control systems, ensuring that all passengers are comfortable regardless of the weather.

Ford Everest Engine & Performance

The Ford Everest could also resemble the international model for the UAE in the department. As of now, we can be sure that we will get the 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost from the current fleet of cars for Ford UAE. This engine will pack around 300 PS of power and 420 Nm of peak torque. A 10-speed automatic gearbox will do the transmission duties. However, considering that the SUV will have strong off-road capabilities, it could even get a manual transmission option for the purists.

That being said, if Ford decides, it could even get additional engine trims similar to the US-spec model. If so, the enthusiasts here will be treated with a 3.0-litre V6 as the highest trim and a slightly lower but twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four.

Ford Everest Safety & Braking

The Ford Everest will continue to be a very safe SUV for all the passengers, just like the American automaker does with all of its models. For starters, it will get the standard disc brakes with ABS and brake assist. In addition, we can expect at least seven airbags all across the cabin.

As for the technology, the SUV will get some advanced driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and monitoring, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. In addition, the car may feature some additional features, like parking assist with rear-mounted sensors and a camera.

Ford Everest Price in the UAE

Ford hasn’t confirmed any information about the pricing of the model. However, since it will be placed below the Explorer in the lineup, it could cost anywhere between AED 130,000 and AED 170,000.

So, summing up what to expect in the Ford Everest, we can be sure that it will have a huge demand when the SUV launches here. While the official launch date is not out yet, Ford could start the pre-bookings for the model much before its release date.
