For Bugatti’s 110th birthday, the company gifts itself a special edition Chiron Sport
ABU DHABI: Any business that has been around for over a century certainly deserves accolades. Automaker Bugatti has seen many ups and downs, it managed to stick it out and is celebrating a monumental 110 years of existence. Back in the day Bugatti signified luxury and exclusivity, now it represents a sporting character with high-tech prowess.
As a birthday present to itself, the company revealed the Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’. This will be a limited edition model with only 20 units being produced. A signature trait of this special edition is the use of the tri-color French flag. This is because the company originated in Molsheim, Alsace region of France, and is planning its future there as well.
The exterior of the Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’ is painted in an exquisite unique ‘Steel Blue’ color. It is reminiscent of some historic Bugatti models from the past. The alloy wheels are coated in ‘Nocturne’ matt-black while the brake callipers are distinct with a French Racing Blue color. Other elements painted black include the spoiler mechanism, sports exhaust system, and the Ettore Bugatti logo. Moving to the pièce de résistance of the Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’, it is the French flag painted under the entire rear spoiler.
This gives the car an unmistakable look. Stepping inside this limited edition Chiron, you are greeted by Deep Blue leather seats, the contours of which are finished in bright French Racing Blue. The tri-colour French flag also makes its way inside, being used on the seat headrest and the 12 o’ clock position of the steering wheel.
Alcantara has been used for various interior elements to complete the distinct look of the cabin. Grabbing the attention on the inside is a specially-crafted solid silver medallion placed on the centre console storage space. It features enamel inserts housed in a carbon fibre plate.
Powering the Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’ is the same 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo unit found in regular versions. The engine makes a mind-blowing 1500 PS and 1600 Nm of torque with power being delivered to all 4 wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 0-100 kmph sprint is dismissed in 2.4 seconds, reaching 200 kmph in 6.1 seconds and 300 kmph in 13.1 seconds. Top speed is a staggering 420 kmph.
