One of the biggest auto shows in the world, the LA Auto Show, is currently on with automakers revealing their splendid productions, ranging from SUVs to electric cars to sports two-seaters and much more. While some big brands are making the most of the moment by presenting their newest creation, others are busy in debuting their brand new ones.
Here we present some of the topmost models staged at the show.
1. Audi RS6 Avant
Starting with the Germans, there is RS6 Avant from the family of Audi cars that’s on display at the show. Powered by the V6 3.0-litre engine, this wagon is good for 608 PS and 257 kmph. The black version wagon has been put up and it looks absolutely stunning.
2. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
Next up is the 2 Series Gran Coupe from BMW. Displayed in the sparkling blue paint job, the sports coupe is available in three different trims, Sport, M Sport and M235i. Out of which, the latter most, being an all-wheel-drive model, gets a twin-turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine under the hood that’s good for 306 PS and 450 Nm. It can hit the triple-digit speed from a standstill position in 4.9 seconds. Its top speed is 250 kmph.
3. BMW M8 Gran Coupe
Displayed in Aurora Diamant Green Metallic colour, the next debut from BMW at the LA auto show is the First Edition M8 Gran Coupe, of which only 400 units will be manufactured and will be delivered to the customers with a numbered plaque. From the outside, the coupe gets Gold Breeze highlighted door sills, window-surround trim, side air breather trim, kidney grille, side mirrors and exterior badging - looks incredible and rare, as it should be, being a limited edition model.
4. Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
The show gets the taste of both models, coupe as well as convertible powered by the new mid-engine C8. Talking about the convertible, it gets a folding hardtop instead of a fabric roof as thought earlier. This will reduce the harshness and vibration felt inside the cabin.
5. Mini John Cooper Works GP
Celebrating the 60 years of the Mini nameplate, the company has revealed a 3000-model limited variant which will be good for 310 PS of power. Not just this, it will come with bespoke aerodynamics and a brand new chassis.
6. Hyundai Vision T Plug-in Hybrid Concept
A design-focused concept by Hyundai is on display too which, according to the company, reflects two themes, “Parametric Fantasy and Transcendent Connectivity”. Parametric Air Shutter is what Hyundai calls the front shutter grille. What’s interesting is that the grille remains closed when the car is stationary, however, when it’ll move, each individual cell of the grille will come in motion in a prescribed sequence.
7. VW Atlas Sport Cross
Another eye-grabber of the show is the VW Atlas Sport Cross, which is powered by a naturally-aspirated V6 3.6-litre engine that churns out a max power of 280 PS, mated to an 8-speed auto transmission system. You get an engine choice with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre gasoline that produces 238 PS of power.
8. VW ID Space Vizzion Concept
An electric concept that is said to feature a battery pack of 82 kWh with a travel range of 590 km and a max power of 340 PS. It will sprint to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds.
9. Dodge Challenger Hellcat Sleigh
While the Christmas festival is around the corner, the company built a Santa sleigh based on a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye that’s been showcased at the LA auto show. It’s a chopped-up version of the Challenger coupe with two massive metal runners instead of the four wheels.
10. Kia Seltos Trail Attack Concept
The Korean brand has brought a uniquely-styled Seltos to the show that all decked up for an adventure, gets orange roof and accents around door sills, fog lamp housing and side mirrors. Kia intends to show the increased capability of the SUV.
11. Ford Mustang Mach E
From the fleet of the blue-oval brand, it’s the new and ravishing electric SUV, the Mustang Mach E, capable of producing 465 PS of power and 830 Nm of torque. It boasts a travel range of 483 km. The First Edition is on display featuring red brake callipers, a scuff plate with First Edition badge and metallic pedal covers.
12. Land Rover Defender
The new Land Rover Defender is also there to light up the show, available in three body styles, including 90, 110 and 130 and six trims, including Defender, S, SE, HSE, X and First Edition. '
