Audi e-tron GT concept teased; to be displayed at LA Auto Show
ABU DHABI: Audi has teased the e-tron GT concept ahead of its debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The vehicle is identical to the A7 Sportback, also the concept model will get a fully electric drivetrain. The teaser image, however, features a camouflaged car. Which means you will need to wait for the e-tron GT's official debut to see what the sedan actually looks like.
Despite being a camouflaged model, the teaser images offer quite a view of Audi’s second e-tron concept. As previously mentioned, the sedan looks almost similar to the A7. The concept shows a low-slung roofline along with slimmer side window. The front end differentiates the concept model from its petrol-powered sibling.
At the front, the headlights are hidden behind the camouflaged mask. It gets Audi's signature single-frame grille, placed between the air intakes. The air vents are placed at the corners of the bumper, near the front wheels. The wheels measure 21-inches.
At the rear, a huge diffuser contains an illuminated logo of e-tron, and the new chevron design is given to the full-width tail lights. A pair of regular door mirrors is also seen in these pictures.
There’s not much official info about the concept, however, earlier this year, the automaker revealed that the vehicle would get the J1 platform. The underpinning is used in Porsche Taycan. The Tycan is equipped with an electric powertrain churning out 609 PS. It can gear up from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.
The powertrain is capable of providing a range of more than 500 km on a single charge. Moreover, in just four minutes of charge, the vehicle can cover 100 km. As for now, we are not sure whether the Audi concept matches the performance figures of the Porsche Taycan or not.
