All-new 2023 Subaru WRX previewed at Singapore Motor Show 2023
ABU DHABI: With one of the widest collections at the counter, Subaru also unveiled its 2023 WRX sedan and wagon at the Singapore Motor Show 2023. With a message, 'Here to ignite your senses', both versions of WRX look exciting.
Both the notchback-sedan and station-wagon body styles of the WRX have undergone a thorough redesign under Subaru's contemporary design ethos, "Dynamic x Solid."
A working hood scoop, a defining feature of the WRX, is present and accounted for supplying fresh air to the turbocharged boxer engine's intercooler. The WRX's athletic styling is continued on the body sides, which are dominated by eye-catching fender extensions to emphasise the road-hugging stance and visibly convey the power of the all-wheel drive. A set of high-performance tyres are mounted on the 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
Both versions are constructed using the most recent version of the Subaru Global Platform, which has full inner frame construction and increased use of structural glue to significantly increase the rigidity of the vehicle.
The turbocharged FA24 boxer engine from Subaru powers the 2023 Subaru WRX vehicles. Due to enlarged displacement and a twin-scroll turbo with computer-controlled wastegate valves, the 2.4-litre horizontally opposed four-cylinder generates 275 horsepower and 350 Nm.
The 2023 Subaru WRX is offered with two gearboxes. A six-speed manual or an eight-gear Lineartronic CVT are available for the WRX sedan model. In line with its cruiser aesthetic, the WRX wagon version is only offered as an automatic.
A viscous-coupling locking centre differential is combined with the manual transmission to divide the torque 50:50 between the front and back axles. Subaru's distinctive Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is combined with both automatic and manual transmissions. For maximum traction, the system will transmit the torque to the appropriate wheels when it notices wheel slippage.
The Subaru Global Platform and sport-tuned suspension, which has geometry tailored for excellent control and exceptional comfort over all types of roads, support the 2023 Subaru WRX vehicles. Rigid subframes withstand lateral stresses from the tyres without the use of hard bushes, front-strut rebound springs reduce body roll while changing directions, and a rear stabiliser fitted directly to the body offers improved stability.
The 2023 WRX's interior features leather seats, a tiller with a flat bottom, and an 11.6-inch touchscreen. Infotainment, climate control, and vehicle settings can all be accessed through the screen. Power windows, door locks, and side mirrors are among the many features that come as standard equipment. Other features include welcome lighting, remote keyless entry, multi-mode vehicle dynamics control with track mode, and incline start assist. For more mobility, the Subaru WRX has rear seats that can be divided 60/40.
Subaru presented its broadest selection to date at the Singapore Motorshow in 2023. Exciting events, special deals, giveaways, and performances that showcased Subaru's cutting-edge innovations were all present.
