All-electric Porsche Macan revealed; offers up to 613 km range

ABU DHABI: Porsche, known for its unwavering commitment to innovation, has come up with the second-generation Macan, which is exclusively available in an all-electric form. This reaffirms the commitment of the German automaker to cutting-edge technology and sustainability.

Oliver Blume, the Chairman of Porsche’s Executive Board, expressed exhilaration while unveiling the second-generation Macan. He also emphasized that this model will mark a leap forward for the iconic brand. With the second-generation Macan car buyers can experience a new level of performance, design, and technology setting a new standard for luxury EVs.

The new Porsche Macan is available in the Macan Turbo and Macan 4 variants. According to Jörg Kerner, Product Line VP of Porsche Macan the all-electric Macan is the sportiest model in its segment. 

The Macan 4 comes with next-gen electric motors for power and efficiency on both axles. It produces around 402 horsepower and torque of 650 Nm, while the Turbo variant generates 630 horsepower and 1,130 Nm of torque.

The Porsche Macan 4 takes 5.2 seconds to achieve 0-100 kmph with a top speed of 220 kmph, while the Macan Turbo takes 3.3 seconds to hit 100 kmph with 260 kmph peak speed. Both are equipped with a 100 kWh battery offering a 613 km range for the Macan 4 and a range of around 591 km for the Macan Turbo. 

The second-gen Macan exudes Porsche's DNA and displays sharper design, reflecting its enhanced capabilities. It takes forward the signature design of the brand with modern elements. The EV can achieve a 0.25 drag coefficient through advanced aerodynamics. It features a central display, curved instrument cluster, innovative augmented reality technology, and an optional passenger screen for the driver.

Porsche celebrates the global success of the Macan series, exceeding 800,000 deliveries since 2014. With the all-electric successor’s net carbon-neutral production at the Porsche Plant Leipzig, the automaker underscores its commitment to environment-friendliness. 

The deliveries of the second-generation Macan will start in the latter half of 2024.
