2024 Mercedes-Benz G-Class debuts with mild-hybrid engines
ABU DHABI: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-new G-Class with mild-hybrid powertrain options, updated off-road technology, and aerodynamic enhancements, signalling the legendary SUV’s significant evolution.

The new G-Class will be available in the second half of the year in the global market.The all-new G-Class retains its boxy aesthetic but receives a few updates, including A-pillar cladding, a redesigned radiator grille, and a front roof lip spoiler. These updates have been made to reduce interior noise and enhance aerodynamics.
The cabin of the all-new G-Class mirrors many of its exterior design elements, featuring a multifunction steering wheel covered with Nappa leather with touch controls and illuminated side air vents that look similar to the headlights. Optional upgrades include wireless charging, temperature-controlled cup holders, and MBUX rear-seat entertainment. MBUX infotainment system comes with 12.3-inch displays, augmented reality navigation, smartphone integration, and adaptive voice assistant enhancing user experience and connectivity.
The new G-Class lineup comes with electrified engine options, including mild hybrids with a 48-volt electrical system and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), reducing fuel consumption and enhancing performance. The proven 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is retained by the Mercedes-AMG G 63 while the G 500 is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine that comes with twin turbocharging. The G 450 d is equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine mated with a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox.
The new Mercedes-AMG G 63 takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph and can reach 137 mph top speed. It takes 4.3 seconds to achieve 0-62 mph with the optional AMG Performance package.
The production of the new G-Class models will start soon and they will be available in the second half of the year in the global market.
