Honda Civic – Top reasons to buy

There have been many cars in the past which have helped Honda gain the popularity which it is enjoying today, the Civic being the most important one of them all. In its current guise, it has entered the tenth generation and still, it is selling strong as ever, thus indicating its popularity.

Honda Civic

There have been several reasons which have made the Honda Civic a trusted brand not only in the East Asian markets but all across the globe. Following are the topmost reasons which have made the Honda Civic a bankable name when it comes to considering a sedan to buy:-

1) It’s a Honda

Honda Logo

Honda cars have always been known for their reliability, refinement and no-nonsense approach towards engineering, the philosophies which every generation of the Civic, including the current one, follows in a good way. There are still a number of good samples of previous generations of Honda Civic which you can find in pristine conditions, which instills faith in the fact that this current generation model too will not disappoint in this aspect, as this one too is built to last.

2) It looks the part, both from in and out

Honda Civic Cabin

All the generations of the Honda Civic till date have been the best looking cars when it came to comparing with the competition, but this current generation Civic has taken the whole game to an altogether different level. Being the sportiest looking Civic till date, it perfectly blends sophistication with sportiness with its large chrome grille and LED headlamps at the front and boomerang-shaped LED tail lights at the rear. On the inside too, the Civic retains its trademark dual cockpit-style dashboard, but in a more modern way. It is easily the best, most contemporary and futuristic looking cabin in the segment right now.

3) It’s loaded with features

Civic Navigation System

In the past, all the generations of the Civic did look the best in the segment but somehow lacked in terms of features as compared to its European rivals. Not this time, as this tenth generation Civic is the best shot by Honda to date. You do get all the top class comfort and convenience features which you expect from a car in this segment, such as LED headlights, LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, Locking Away Walk, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, navigation and reverse camera, Honda LaneWatch, remote control engine starter with push-button start, leather upholstery, sports pedal, paddle shifters, 2 USB ports, electric parking brake with automatic brake hold and cruise control.

4) It has a long list of safety features

Gone are the days when the safety features were restricted to offering just dual airbags and ABS. This is the tenth generation Honda Civic fighting its rivals in the second decade 21st century, and it has all the right arms in the safety department. You do get all the essential safety features here, such as dual, side and curtain airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), traction control, hill start assist, agile handling assist, vehicle stability assist, emergency stop signal, tire pressure monitoring system, brake override system, engine immobilizer and ISOFIX mounts.

5) Terrific engine options

When it comes to offering a perfect blend of refinement and sublime performance, the tenth generation Honda Civic falls in line with the tradition of all the previous generation Hondas. The current Civic is being offered with three engine options – 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol, and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. The range starting 1.6-litre petrol develops 123 bhp of power and 151 Nm of torque, while the biggest engine here, i.e., 2.0-litre petrol develops 158 bhp of power and 187 Nm of torque. However, it is the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol which is the most powerful one here, by putting up 180 bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque. The DX and LX Sport variants are offered with the 1.6-litre petrol, while the EXI variant is offered with the2.0-litre petrol. Only the RS Turbo variant comes with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and is purely for those who prefer performance over everything else.
