Engine, mileage & variants

The Kia Cerato comes equipped with two petrol engine options; Gamma 1.6-litre MPI and Nu 2.0 litre MPI. Talking about the generated power, the 1.6 litre Gamma engine produces 130 PS at 6300 rpm, along with maximum torque of 157 Nm at 4850 rpm. Whereas, engine with 2.0 litre capacity churns out maximum power increased to level 161 PS at 6500 rpm coupled with a high torque of 194 Nm at 4800 rpm. With the Nu 2.0 litre gasoline engine, you can accelerate from naught to 100 km/hr in 10.8 seconds. In terms of fuel economy, the better engine option is the 1.6 litre MPI engine that gives a mileage of 15.3 kmpl.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

The braking and handling in new Cerato is reinforced by all-wheel ventilated disc brakes along with McPherson with coil springs suspension in the front axle and torsion beam with coil springs in the rear. Also, the chassis of new made with high-strength steel preventing vehicle from getting deflected at high speeds and driving in uneven surfaces. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) supports emergency braking by distributing equal brakeforce to wheels individually.
