Jaguar F Type Coupe Expert Review

Introduction:

The Jaguar F-type is a sports car based on the brand’s XK convertible’s platform which was a capable grand tourer of its time. The E-type was the predecessor of the F-type which was under operation from 1961 to 1975. The F-type was introduced in the year 2013 in different body frames including coupe and convertibles. The Jaguar is known to manufacture sensible cars that look to have white collar personality while boasting a beastly performance. The F-type gave them a chance to establish a podium where they can show off their skills and can create the racing thump. This car is endowed with three engine options that suit a number of driving styles.

Interior

Interior:

The cabin is made driver centric and design is encouraging; everything is placed in a perfect order to make it a real performer. The color scheme is brilliantly blended with the royal touch of leather and light illumination gets it a good piece of artwork. These color schemes are custom enabled with wide choices across the seats, textures and combinations of hues. The futuristic dials behind the steering wheel sparks the throttle in the driver’s habits. The Meridian music system is optional which provides the sheer pleasure of music with 770 watts 16 channel amplifiers with 12 speakers bonded with Audyssey MultEQ Audio Equialization and Dynamic volume control for 7.1 channel surround sound. Coming to the seats, they are multifunctional and well cushioned with two occupant’s capacity. At the trunk, the storage is limited to 407 liters.

Exterior

Jaguar has taken out perfect shapes and lines on the body of F-type; since the structure is made up of Aluminum, getting such a beauty over the aluminum metal sheet needs a good sort of skills and Jaguar has got that. This car is not a replica of other cars from the brand rather it keeps the grill for itself which reminds us of the company to which it belongs. The lights are sleek and the rear is robust and has the familiar fragrance. For 3.0 liter engine version, it measures length as 4470 mm, width as 1923 mm, height for coupe as 1311 mm and height for convertible as 1308 mm. The 5.0 liter variant counts the length as 4470 mm, width as 1923 mm, height for coupe as 1314 mm and height for convertible as 1311 mm. The rubber worn over the 20 inch alloy wheels is sized at 255/35 R20.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

Engine, Mileage and Variants

The Jaguar F-type is available in 3 engine classes. The first two versions are the 3.0 liter V6 Supercharged units with countable differences in gearbox operations and amount of power generated. The power output of these configuration ranges between 340 PS to 380 PS at 6500 rpm while the torque lies between 450 Nm to 460Nm at 3500-5000 rpm. The top speed of this engine comes between 260 kmph to 275 kmph with zero to 100 kmph acceleration in 5.7 to 4.9 seconds according to the engine option. The most powerful engine in the lot is the 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine. It generates 550 PS of power at 6500 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. It catches the top speed of 300 kmph with acceleration in just 4.2 seconds to reach 100 kmph from stand still. The returnable fuel mileage of this engine is around 9 kmpl.

Braking & Safety

Safety

The F-type is among the most powerful cars globally in this segment. This power is subjected to a healthy number of safety equipments which perform their job briskly in order to keep the occupants safe. The aluminum chassis is the rigid thing in the vehicle that forms its structure to be resistant to the cabin crush. Multiple airbags are must for a car of this range and it has got the same. Jaguar’s innovative approach lies behind the blind spot monitor which detects a number of blind spot and prompts the driver for safe driving. Apart from this, it also has pedestrian safety equipment, intelligent high beam, reverse traffic detection, occupant aids, emergency brake assist, ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control etc.

Verdict:

There is hardly anything in this car to not be liked. The quality of material used is topnotch with reliability and on-road manners. The engines are powerful with reasonable punch. The seating capacity and luggage room should be given a chance to upgrade.
