Volkswagen unveils the ID.3 GTX, the new high-performance hatch
ABU DHABI: Volkswagen has expanded its electric vehicles lineup with the unveiling of the ID.3 GTX, adding a new performance hatchback to its hot electric models range.

Despite optimal power, the ID.3 GTX falls short in terms of acceleration, with the standard variant taking 6 seconds to hit 100 kmph and the Performance version taking 5.6 seconds to achieve the same acceleration.
Volkswagen claims the ID.3 GTX can achieve 180 kmph top speed for the standard variant and 200 kmph for the Performance version.
The GTX comes with a sophisticated suspension setup and progressive steering enhancing the driving experience. The Performance version comes with four selectable drive modes and DCC adaptive chassis control. With this, the hot hatch offerings of Volkswagen now include rear-wheel drive (ID.3 GTX), front-wheel drive (Golf GTI), and all-wheel drive (Golf R).
The ID.3 GTX comes with a new 79 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers 600 kilometres of WLTP-estimated range. Thermal management makes charging more efficient, allowing faster charging at up to 175 kWh in 26 minutes from 10-80% at DC stations. Longer trip planning is further simplified with the help of an electric vehicle route planner.
The ID.3 GTX boasts a striking front bumper with LED matrix headlights and an A-shaped air intake. For the Performance version, it rides on 20-inch Skagen wheels. The rear features LED tail lights and a GTX-specific diffuser with dynamic turn signals.
The ID.3 GTX interior is a haven of comfort with supportive sports seats with optional ergoActive seats and red accents. It is available with a 12.9-inch infotainment system and offers a Wellness app and optional augmented reality HUD.
