The all-new Porsche 911 Singer Vehicle Design unveiled

ABU DHABI: The Porsche 911 Singer Vehicle Design released its Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) at the recently concluded 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Regarding the DLS, Singer has stated that it’s the “formation of technical partners in pursuit of the most advance air-cooled Porsche 911 in the world.” To improve the mass efficiency of the car and to redistribute the weight, a 'weight-down’ study was conducted by Williams.

All the exterior body panels of this DLS has been crafted by carbon-fibre. Its bodywork has been done through reassessment from computational fluid dynamics analysis.

It has a quad-cam engine which attains 500 hp output at 9,000 rpm. Its equipped with dual-oil circuits, new cylinders, pistons with titanium con-rods, aluminium throttle bodies with carbon-fibre trumpets, new upper/lower injectors, a carbon-fibre air box, titanium exhaust system and an enlarged engine cooling fan. The power produced by the engine is sent to the driver rear wheels through a six-speed gearbox. The car can be powered by any one of the 3.6, 3.8 or 4.0-litre engines built by Ed Pink Racing.

The interior of the car is made from lightweight carbon-fibre seats and steering wheel. It comes equipped with traction control and stability control systems gaining bespoke calibration for the DLS. The suspension work of the car employs lightweight double wishbones in front and an aluminium trailing arm setup for the rear.
The brakes for this DLS come with carbon-ceramic discs for road and track use which are paired with monobloc callipers. BBS Motorsport 18-inch wheels have been installed in this car. These wheels are fitted with Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres measuring 245/35R18 at front and 295/30R18 at the rear.

This Singer-developed DLS is reported to be produced in 75 units. Its price will depend on the client's customization level.
