Porsche releases Mission E production snaps
ABU DHABI: Two years ago, Porsche made the announcement that it will put its Mission E electric sedan concept into production. Finally, the German Automobile Manufacturer has revealed new details of the Tesla rival. Although the first photos of the production model do not reveal much, it does, however, show how the designers have tried to retain most of the lines of the stunning concept. Even now, Porsche has not officially released the Mission E, but the company has given us a peek into how the brand's first all-electric vehicle is going to be built.
The first official photos released by Porsche show the production model Mission E, which is still in its prototype form and sports some camouflage. Definitely, the road-going model appears identical to the concept. However, in comparison to the concept, Mission E seems to embrace a higher rear roofline, thereby more headroom for the rear-seating occupants.
The other details of the electric vehicle by Porsche with respect to the powertrain, such as battery packs as well as electric motors are not properly known as of now. Nevertheless, Porsche does claim that the vehicle is 'a true Porsche'. So far, the company has made the confirmation that the car will produce over 600 PS. It also claims that the Mission E will be able to do 0-100km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, in addition to a 500 km range on a single charge. Furthermore, to reach 80-percent electrical charge, it will only take 15 minutes.
All these things sound quite promising and the buyers can raise their hopes. Despite saying that, till now there is no official date declared by Porsche with respect to the release of its first Electric Vehicle - the Mission E. The company has only pointed out that the rolling out of Mission E could be somewhere around late 2019. It is speculated that the vehicle might make it to the Frankfurt Motor Show. One may expect new specifications of the vehicle getting released officially or unofficially in the near future.
