Porsche registers 41% growth in the Asia-Pacific region in 2019
Automobile buyers in the Asia-Pacific region have been very receptive to Porsche cars. And it is only due to this exceptional demand that the premium German automaker has marked a stellar growth in 2019. To put forward a primary picture, the Asia-Pacific region witnessed a stellar growth of 41% with the deliveries of 3,025 units.
The markets include strategically significant destinations, like Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, New Zealand, etc. Out of these, Porsche performed specifically well in New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam. Singapore registered a sales number of 415 Porsche cars, while 922 were sold in Thailand. Vietnam and Singapore registered sales numbers of 326 and 591 units respectively.
The individual model sales numbers of Porsche in the Asia-Pacific region gives a clearer idea. 1,090 units of the Porsche Macan rolled out from the automaker’s dealerships, marking a growth of 84%. The Panamera was sold to 312 customers, while the iconic 911 rolled out to 352 buyers. Even the 718 sold 201 units in total.
The biggest surprise was the staggering popularity of the Cayenne plug-in hybrid. The combined sales number for the car stood at 1,070, marking a growth of 154%. However, out of this, more than half (53%) were hybrid models. It can be reckoned that the additional boost in power and cleaner engine mechanism motored this growth.
Many reasons led to the company’s higher sales numbers. The incoming of the 8th generation 911 was one big factor. Even the beginning of 2020 has been promising for prospective customers with the arrival of the Cayenne Coupe.
Arthur Willmann, the MD at Porsche Asia-Pacific has mentioned that 2019 was a very fruitful year for the German auto giant. The strong portfolio of products could be attributed to this growth. Further, he even said that 2020 is more promising on the pipeline.
Porsche has a very huge portfolio of models in the Middle East too. It sells the 718 and 911 is multiple body types and variants, besides the Taycan, Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne.
