Pay AED 500 for parking a dirty car in Dubai
Known for its strict laws and their stern implementations, Dubai has yet again framed another rule and this time it is for the vehicle owners. Added to the stringent motor laws, the new rule imposes a hefty fine of AED 500 on the vehicle owners who leave their dirty vehicles in parking zones.
The notification is issued by Dubai Municipality and states that any Dubai resident found parking or have parked a dirty vehicle in public parking space will be liable to pay AED 500 to the respective authority. Dubai Municipality tweeted that things like a dirty car parked somewhere "tarnish the aesthetics appearance of the city". They also pushed a reminder for those residents who are planning to go on a vacation to make arrangement for their vehicles and not leave them lying in a parking lot to get dirty.
They have also started sticking notice to stranded cars in order to give 15 days prior warning for cleaning. If found unattended or left dirty, the authorities will tow away the vehicles. Furthermore, the towed vehicles will be sold in auctions if the authorities are not contacted by the owners within a stipulated time period.
Owing to the lavish lifestyle and presence of tons of entertainment hubs, Dubai attracts voluminous tourists every year, which also contributes a considerable share to the nation’s revenue. The Dubai authorities also don’t want to compromise with it and keep the city as clean and tidy as possible.
