McLaren’s next model teased with top-exit exhausts
ABU DHABI: McLaren’s mystery car has been teased yet again with exhausts ports positioned on the car’s top deck that seems to be made up of carbon fibre. Not many details are known at the moment but what’s known is that it is set to debut on June 28, 2018.
Earlier, McLaren showed off the car in another teaser where the car’s rear section was visible. It looked a lot similar to the 570 and now with top-exit exhausts, there’s an indication of it being another variant of the sports series car 570. However, nothing is official right now and these are only speculations. In a couple of weeks time, it will be as clear as a crystal when the covers will be off the mystery car on June 28. The debut will take place online at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The officials at McLaren have said that the car will, “deliver track-focused dynamics.” and will “benefit from increased power, minimized weight, optimized aerodynamics, and enhanced driver engagement.”
Like the McLaren Senna, the new mystery car will also be available in limited units. Taking note of the McLaren’s Track22 business plan, which the company announced back in 2016, this model will be the fifth entrant. As per the plan, McLaren will produce 15 new or derivative models by the end of 2022. Hybrid powertrains are also on cards with the arrival of these new models. So stay tuned to hear more inside stories from McLaren.
