Land Rover wins big in 2024 J.D. Power China CSI study

ABU DHABI: Every year, car models that excel in their segments are recognized by J.D. Power for their dependability, initial quality, performance, and design in China. Additionally, top car brands are awarded for sales satisfaction and customer service. This year, Land Rover emerged as the highest scorer in the J.D. Power China Customer Service Index study.

Out of 1,000, Land Rover scored 805 points in the 2024 J.D. Power China Customer Service Index. In the premium category, it was declared the leader surpassing Mercedes-Benz (802), Porsche (798), Cadillac (801), and Audi (797). 

Geely topped the list in the domestic brand category, with 786 points surpassing brands like Chery (780), FAW Hongqi (776), GAC Trumpchi (780), and Jetour (768). The mass market category was led by Changan with 767 points surpassing FAW Besturn (766), Beijing Hyundai (765), Lynk & Co (766), and SAIC Volkswagen (763).

The category of mass market brands averaged 767 points, while the premium brands were able to score 796, with an overall increase in customer satisfaction scores since 2023 by 14 points. These positive results are attributed by J.D. Power to car brands that focus on enhancing after-sales services.

From the study, key findings highlight free roadside assistance prominence for premium brand customers, the value of service transparency, and smartphone app effectiveness for after-sales services. 

The 2024 J.D. Power China CSI has been conducted in the region for the fourth time, measuring the satisfaction of customers across six factors: service team, service facility, welcome and diagnostic, service value, service quality, and reservation.
