Kia reveals its electrification plans, announces 15 EVs and a dedicated PBV model by 2030
ABU DHABI: Kia’s CEO, Ho Sung Song has announced that the automaker is trying its best to become an “EV tier 1 brand. The company has developed four pillars to achieve its goal of becoming the global sustainable mobility leader.

It plans to sell 258,000 EVs by 2023, 1.6 million units in 2030, and 1,005,000 EVs in 2026, which is 33% more than the estimated figures that were announced last year. It will also focus on the local assembly of EVs to meet with the ever-rising demand of the EV markets around the globe.
Kia’s corporate vision is supported by four basic fundamentals- ‘people,’ ‘planet’ and ‘profit.’ The company will strive to nurture talents, generate profits and work as a responsible corporate citizen, enhance customer value and reduce carbon emissions to save the environment. Kia also plans that all its new vehicles will be available with autonomous driving tech.
Kia first revealed its Plan S strategy in 2020. The 2030 roadmap is the further extension of the same plan. Kia recorded its highest ever operating profit and gross revenue in 2021. The company aspires to continue this positive momentum in the coming years.
