Kia EV9 gets honored at WWCOTY Award as 'World's Best Car for 2024'

ABU DHABI: An esteemed panel of judges named the Kia EV9 as the ‘World's Best Car for 2024’ at the Women's Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY). The Kia EV9 stood out as the best choice among 63 contenders following in-depth evaluations by 75 women motoring journalists across five continents. This accolade underscores the remarkable versatility of the all-electric SUV.  

The Kia EV9 is an electric SUV that comes in both seven and six-seater configurations and has a 3100 mm wheelbase. With its innovative design, it has redefined the segment. It also comes with advanced technology, such as ultra-fast and bidirectional charging capabilities. 

In international markets, the Kia EV9 is offered with two battery pack options: 99.8-kWh and 76.1-kWh, providing up to 680 km range on a single charge. 

The judges lauded the Kia EV9 for its user-friendliness, affordability, and widespread appeal. Its family-friendly interior, outstanding aerodynamics, and robust performance, particularly in bad weather conditions made it a worthy contender for the prestigious award. 

The main aim of WWCOTY is to recognize exceptional cars and empower women in the automotive industry. Factors like safety, design, environmental impact, ease of driving, quality, and price are considered carefully in the evaluation process. 

Following the previous success of Kia with the Niro's 'World's Best Car for 2023' title, the KIA EV9 continues its winning streak. It has been named the 2024 World Car Awards finalist. It received various accolades in the past like the German Luxury Car of the Year 2024 title and the 'Family Cars' category at the 2023 Golden Steering Wheel showcasing its outstanding capabilities.
