The upcoming generation of Jaguar EVs is expected to be a departure from the previous models of the brand in every aspect—technical specifications, visual design, and market positioning. According to the British automaker, these new electric vehicles will be completely different from the past, embodying an innovative and fresh approach that distinguishes them from the outgoing lineup of the company. When asked about the future models' design philosophy, Jaguar emphasized that they will be original and a “copy of nothing.”
The four-door GT concept, debuting in December, will showcase future Jaguar models with a range of over 700 km, a price around GBP 100,000 (AED 473,747), a 580 hp dual-motor powertrain, and ultra-rapid charging. It will also hint at limousine designs and upcoming SUVs slated for release by 2028.
Rawdon Glover, Jaguar’s managing director stated that the new electric vehicle designs aim to challenge the conventional aesthetics of electric cars, which have become very similar due to wind tunnel testing. The upcoming models will come with minimalist front ends, nearly invisible LED lights, long bonnets, and a new grille motif. Glover also said that while the cat emblem will be reimagined, it will be a part of the brand identity.
The GT will be launched in the US, underscoring its prominence to Jaguar, though the automaker still values its British roots.
The shift of Jaguar to an all-electric lineup is mainly due to competitors like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Audi adapting their strategies due to low demand for premium EVs. The company will end the production of I-Pace and E-Pace by year-end. Only the F-Pace will be produced until 2025.
The new electric GT’s global delivery will start in 2026, leaving a gap without new Jaguars in a few markets.
