IIHS grants the highest safety rating to Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV

ABU DHABI: The Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric vehicle has earned a TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating from the IIHS for meeting its crash-worthiness evaluations. IIHS also recognised the Ioniq 6 electric vehicle's front-crash prevention systems that protect pedestrians both day and night. This latest achievement solidifies Hyundai's commitment to ensuring the safety of both pedestrians and drivers.

A vehicle must meet stringent criteria set by the IIHS to qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation in 2023. It should obtain good ratings in different crash tests like the passenger-side small overlap front, driver-side small overlap front updated side tests, and original moderate overlap front. Across all the trims, the vehicle must feature good or acceptable headlights. Additionally, it should come with an advanced front-crash prevention system that achieves "Superior" or "Advanced" ratings in both the nighttime and daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.
